ONE OF THE UK’s LEADING RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPERS
Renewable Connections deliver highly innovative renewable energy developments in strategic locations across the UK. With an outstanding success record of taking projects through planning, the Renewable Connections team are unlocking hundreds of megawatts of solar and storage, increasing energy independence in the UK. Renewable Connections was established by sustainable energy investment specialist, Armstrong Capital Management.
WHAT WE DO
Renewable Connections is a development business. We focus primarily on the development of solar and storage projects in the United Kingdom.
Through Renewable Connections’ relationships with experienced and responsible partners, we are able to provide a full service package at all stages of a renewable energy project’s life.
The UK’s energy system is changing rapidly. Only 10 years ago the country relied on a small number of very large generation plants, powered by nuclear, coal and gas. This has already begun to change, with the last 10 years seeing a massive investment in renewables. There are now tens of thousands of small generating plants across the UK, from small roof-top solar systems, to large offshore windfarms.
We believe that this trend will continue, with continued investment in large-scale renewable energy generation, and particularly solar and wind. Due to significant reductions in the cost of equipment over the last five years, coupled with technology improvements, both of these technologies are now able to compete with conventional sources of power generation (nuclear and fossil fuels such as coal and gas), without the need for any subsidy. With this tipping point having been reached, we are beginning to see a future where renewable energy provides 100% of the UK’s energy needs, powering its industry, its homes, and its cars.
Whilst renewable energy is now cost competitive with conventional sources of energy, today it is not yet able to compete in terms of reliability: put simply, solar panels only produce power when the sun is shining, wind turbines only produce power when the wind is blowing.
To make renewable energy a long-term replacement for base load power produced by fossil fuel and nuclear power plants, we believe that energy networks of the future will require significant investment in battery storage, to help move power from when it is generated, to when it is needed.
Recent years have seen significant falls in the cost of large-scale batteries so that large scale battery projects are already financially viable in the UK.
At Renewable Connections we try, where ever possible, to develop storage projects on all solar projects.
Renewable Connections is leading on all the planning and development aspects of launched company HyGen Energy Holdings Limited. HyGenwill build, own and operate commercial scale hydrogen production facilities across the UK and Ireland.
It is anticipated that the first hydrogen production facilities will be operational within the next couple of years, securing HyGe n’s ambition of becoming one of the UK’s leading providers of low carbon hydrogen.
PowerGreen PPA, a division of Renewable Connections, is dedicated to supporting businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs. We do this by offering businesses a fully funded, all-inclusive solar solution, covering design, installation, operation and maintenance.
Our goal is to support your business through its net zero transition, whilst delivering long term savings on energy costs.
Our Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) offer complete flexibility, allowing you to gain the benefits of solar, without the financial, construction and operational burdens associated with self-building.
Renewable Connections, an Armstrong Capital company, is developing large-scale solar and battery plants across the UK, in order to support the nation’s shift to cleaner, sustainable energy; helping to protect the UK’s environment for future generations.
To achieve this goal, we are looking for landowners to partner with through 30-40-year leases, for which we can offer attractive index linked quarterly rental payments.
- Attractive, index linked quarterly rental payments
- Predictable long-term security of income (up to 40 years)
- Diversification of revenue
- Increased biodiversity
- Multi-use tenure – grazing
- Providing financial reassurance for future planning
