London based Armstrong Capital Management Limited (“Armstrong”) and Copenhagen based European Energy A/S (“European Energy”) have entered into a joint venture to fund the development of a UK storage and solar pipeline of more than 500 MW.
Thorvald Spanggaard, Project Director at European Energy said that “the UK has been a market that European Energy has been keen to re-enter for some time now. We are already working on developing our own portfolio of wind and solar sites, but have been looking for some time for local partners to help us to accelerate our development activities. In Armstrong we have found an established player with a strong pipeline of projects. We look forward to delivering hundreds of MWs of subsidy-free renewable energy projects in the UK with Armstrong in the coming years.”
Steve Mahon, the Chief Executive of Armstrong, said “Armstrong is delighted to have reached agreement with European Energy for the funding of its UK development pipeline. In European Energy we have found a partner with an excellent track record of delivering high quality renewable energy projects, and who shares our belief in the long-term opportunities for solar and storage projects in the UK.”
